Japan: Continue to maintain flexible itineraries, anticipate disruption during passage of Typhoon Lan
Last Updated: 23 Oct 2017 05:46 (GMT) Members in Japan should continue to maintain flexible itineraries and anticipate disruption during the passage of Typhoon Lan. The weather system made landfall near Minamiizu (Shizuoka prefecture, Honshu island) early on 23 October as a Category Two storm (second-lowest on a five-tier scale) and was moving in a north-easterly direction. Flights at the capital Tokyo´s Haneda (HND) and Narita (NRT) airports have largely normalised, though residual disruption is possible as airlines work to clear the backlog of passengers. Train services have been affected in several areas of Japan, though commuter trains in Tokyo are operating largely normally.

Philippines: Tacloban: Expect residual delays following brief closure of airport
Last Updated: 20 Oct 2017 05:26 (GMT) Daniel Z Romualdez Airport (TAC), which serves the city of Tacloban (Eastern Visayas region), has reopened, though long queues and associated delays at check-in counters are possible as airlines attempt to clear the backlog of passengers. The airport closed earlier in the day after a passenger aircraft stalled on its runway.

Japan: Okinawa prefecture: Maintain flexible itineraries as disruption likely during passage of Typhoon Lan
Last Updated: 19 Oct 2017 21:33 (GMT) Members in Okinawa prefecture in the coming days should maintain flexible itineraries as disruption is likely due to the passage of strong Typhoon Lan. The weather system is forecast to strengthen into a super typhoon as it moves in north-westerly direction towards Honshu islands. On its current trajectory, Lan is expected to make landfall in coastal areas between the capital Tokyo and Yokohama city (Kanagawa prefecture) on 22-23 October. While there are currently no reports of disruption at Naha airport (OKA, Okinawa), changing weather conditions can result in short-notice disruption to flights and overland travel.
